There is not much colour variation among the large-flowered Alliums, so Pink Jewel is a very welcome addition to the range. Pink Jewel is derived from Allium nigrum (formerly Allium multibulbosum) and has approximately the same flower size and flowering period as its mother. It is therefore nice to use them together. Plant it in full sun in a place where the soil remains on the dry side in the summer. If it is happy there, it can flower again for years and form beautiful tufts.
