The allium (ornamental onion) is a very recognizable plant: a cheerfully colored ball on a thin stem, actually just like a kind of lollipop. They are real spring bloomers that should not be missing in the garden. They are elegant and (literally) dominate everywhere. You can choose alliums with large flower bulbs or somewhat simpler versions.
An allium is quite easy to care for and therefore ideal to buy for the garden. The only thing they require is a sunny spot in the garden and a reasonably moist soil.
