Peony Nick Shaylor

An oldie, she is already approaching 100, 1931 is written as the year of her introduction. Surprising to see is how her phenomenally beautiful Lavender pink buds grow into a beautiful white flower. If you look closely there is always a trace of her special pink in her large flowers but the white will dominate. Incidentally, Nick Shaylor is so far the only Peony that has managed to be proclaimed the most beautiful Peony of the year twice. Both in 1941 and in 1969 The American Peony Society awarded her the Gold Medal.
