Flowers, but no visitors Reading The American Begonia (also called Ameri-Hybrids) 2 minutes Next Spring; the garden is in bloom, time to enjoy

Since I got to know the American Begonia well, I have begun to doubt whether the Dahlia is really the bulb plant that produces the most flowers per tuber.

As we are used to from Dahlias, these new American Begonias (also called Ameri-Hybrids) also give new flowers all summer long, well into the fall. Really unbelievable how many flowers emerge from such a small tuber.

The American Begonia has surprised me positively with its reliability; it is so easy to grow. Of the dozens of tubers that I have planted in the garden and in pots, not one has let me down. They all do it and they keep on blooming, from June until well into September they kept on giving new flowers.

The Begonia starts slowly. In June it blooms reasonably well, but the plant is still small. As soon as the plant is bigger, in July and August, it really gets going. It is unbelievable how many large and colorful flowers the American Begonia produces.

It is almost as if the Begonia plant wants to hide under a carpet of flowers.

I really recommend that you try the Begonia and be amazed by its Flower Power.

How to best treat this American Begonia can be read under the Flower Bulb information in the Fluwel web shop.

Furthermore, now is also a great time to plant other summer flowering bulbs. With the Dahlia , be careful that you are not surprised by a late night frost. Young shoots of the Dahlia are very sensitive to freezing and if it freezes hard, even the tuber can be damaged by the frost.

We also have good cultivation information about Dahlias on the Fluwel website.
