Clusiana Lady Jane

'My sweet Lady Jane, good to see you again' I always say when I see this charming little tulip blooming again. She stands, or I should say stood, in my front garden for about 5 years. Every spring she came back, sometimes with fewer flowers, then again with more flowers. But how beautiful it was, and maybe she would still be there if I had not changed my garden.

Now that I am writing this text I immediately intend to plant her again in the fall. Lady Jane is obtained from the wild species Tulipa clusiana, better known as the 'Lady Tulip'. You can see that clearly in Lady Jane, she looks a lot like her mother.

Lady Jane is truly a delightful Tulip in the garden or in a pot. She is cheerful, beautifully coloured but what attracts me most is that she is alive; when the sun shines her flowers open and she shows a sea of ​​dazzling white stars on long thin stems. When it becomes cloudy she returns to her elegant, slender Turkish Tulip shape.
