Tete Bouclé

The Dutch flower bulb growers simply talk about 'double Tetten' when they mean the Narcissus Tete Bouclé. Logical, because the Tete Bouclé was a regular Tete a Tete whose flowers spontaneously changed into double Narcissus flowers.

It often happens that a flower bulb, just like that, changes color or shape. For example, a grower of the Narcissus Tete a Tete once found a plant that was blooming with double flowers. In the plant world, this is called a transition; the flower has 'transitioned' from a single-flowered inflorescence to a double-flowered inflorescence.

There is little to say about the characteristics of Tete Bouclé other than that they are exactly the same as those of the Tete a Tete. It flowers early, often together with the snowdrops, naturalizes like the best in the garden and is also excellent for use in flower boxes and as a pot daffodil.
