My Dearest

Pssst, don't tell the other Daffodils that this is my favorite daffodil! Of course I should find all my Daffodil seedlings equally sweet and beautiful. But this one simply has a special place in my heart. Always has, from the first moment it came into bloom as a seedling.

She is such a chic appearance; beautiful, straight and upright leaves, a large flower that looks cheerfully upwards and, as the icing on the cake, her playfully ruffled, yellow-edged crown with which she knows how to seduce everyone.

When its flowers open, My Dearest displays a trumpet that is completely yellow in color, but the trumpet soon fades to white from the perianth, leaving only yellow in its attractively frizzled edge.

My Dearest is a very strong Narcissus that blooms for a long time and comes back for years. But like so many beautiful flowers, this Narcissus also has a somewhat less pleasant characteristic; it does not multiply really fast, you can safely say very slowly.

As I write this, I am reminded of a saying I heard years ago from a now deceased uncle:
"Be wise Young hero, pretty girls cost money."

In order to prevent My Dearest from getting that far and to at least let her pay her board and lodging at our nursery, I am offering her per 10 pieces. Yes, the price is steep, but we are sending fat bulbs that you will enjoy for many years.
