Narcissus I Love You, 2 WW, Carlos van der Veek, 2017
With this daffodil I won the first prize '2017 RHS Early Daffodil Competition' in Rosemoor. The best large-flowered daffodil of the entire show. I had not yet given her a name, she still had the seedling number F 41, but everyone encouraged me to give her a name and to offer her so I had to think of a name quickly. All visitors to the show and all fellow entrants of Daffodils commented on this daffodil with words along the lines of 'I love this daffodil' and 'what a lovely flower' so I thought that would be her name: I love You. The daffodil entrants will have to get used to it, but there is nothing wrong with I Love You and it is a name that you do not forget quickly.
