In the year 2002 I received a few bulbs of this beautiful daffodil from the famous flower bulb expert Kees Breed. He had Androcles in his collection for years and was surprised that this daffodil was never picked up by the Dutch flower bulb growers.
I thought she was beautiful and asked if I could try to grow a batch of them. He would put them aside for me and I could come and get them in the fall. Mr. Breed was right, Androcles is a very good and beautiful daffodil for both the gardener and the bulb grower.
