Oh so beautiful but just as difficult, the naked bulbs are very sensitive to drying out. We pack them immediately upon receipt in moist peat moss and you must promise that you will unpack them immediately and plant them in the ground when you receive them.
The best place to plant them is moist, humus-rich and well-drained. But if they take well, you will enjoy them for years and if you are lucky, a rarer white fritillary will bloom among them.
