What a grateful wild bulb this is. It blooms profusely, comes back well and if it is in a piece of uncultivated garden it sows happily. In the sun or in the shade it makes no difference, it blooms just as profusely.
I have it in the orchard myself, where it does so well that it even crowds out the weeds. By the time it flowers in mid-May the weather is often better, so you can enjoy it to the full.
