Amaryllis Provence

I would be surprised if Provence is not a descendant of the Amaryllis Apple Blossom . In many ways it is similar; bulb, leaf and flower all show similarities.

The biggest difference is in the flower colour, where Apple Blossom is a bit more sweet and soft with its pink tones, Provence shows a bit more bravado.

I also see in my test plantings that Provence always gives a third stem in the size 32/34 cm bulb size. With the Apple Blossom that is more the exception than the rule. But yes, that old blossom is already approaching 65 so we should not hold it against her that she is not as lively as her daughter. And perhaps Apple Blossom will find a worthy successor in the youthful and fresh-looking Provence.
