Amaryllis White Amadeus

I first saw her at the annual Flower Trade Exhibition in Aalsmeer. This is an annual trade fair held in the building of flower auction Flora Holland where the flower sector exhibits its latest products. The flower trade, flower growers and breeders come from all over the world to show what beautiful things they have.

In the field of flowers, this fair really shows the cream of the crop. Many exhibitors spare no expense or effort to present their products as beautifully as possible. To show you how beautifully some traders display their products, I have included a photo of a Kalanchoe grower.

And there was the White Amadeus, on top of a pillar, incorporated into a beautiful flower arrangement. It was at the stand of Amaryllis grower NL van Geest. It was love at first sight.

Her beautifully shaped, large flowers in combination with her virgin white, simply fantastic. The following spring I met her again, now in the greenhouse at Van Geest where she surprised me again in a positive way. A beautiful, short and sturdy plant with many, but especially large, flowers. This white Amadeus Amaryllis has a bright future ahead of it.
