The zantedeschia : I have paid far too little attention to her up until now. She deserves better. This flower is something completely different: her flower is almost unique in her simplicity.

The zantedeschia is perhaps comparable to the tulip in this respect: it has a simple shape and colour, completely without frills. The zantedeschia has a classic appearance; in its simplicity it is special and completely itself.

Previously I did not even offer this beautiful flower bulb in my webshop: lack of photos and time to search for the most beautiful ones were the main cause of this. Taking photos of a flower that you do not know well can be particularly difficult, but whether it was destined or coincidence, it does not matter: in the monster gardens of Wisley Gardens there was a zantedeschia trial last weekend, for all zantedeschias that qualify for an AGM Award .

During the busy daffodil season I was fortunately able to leave just in time to go and have a look, because I obviously didn't want to miss this. With my son and eldest daughter I spent two days at Wisley looking at zantedeschias and took two memory cards full of photos. When I was there, the zantedeschias were at their peak or just past that: so I was lucky, as you can probably see in the photos.

This means that the lack of a zantedeschia collection in my webshop is now a thing of the past!
