What about poison in the flower bulbs? Reading Selecting and peeling the daffodils 2 minutes Next Organic flower bulbs

The daffodils are finally all in after being dug up. Now the fun part begins: sorting and peeling the daffodils .

For peeling, we have divided a number of species, a way to make a batch of daffodils grow faster. This means that we cut the daffodil into quarters (or more pieces, if the bulb is big enough). Then these pieces are planted again, after which they all form their own bulb under the ground. In this way, you will have more daffodils sooner than if you just plant and peel them.

We did this with a few varieties at the end of July. The rest of the daffodils went to the shed: we started peeling them last week.

But the daffodils are inside, and they have done well again! We will make many people happy with them again next fall.

If you haven't ordered daffodils yet: it's not too late, you can still give yourself a flower. There's plenty of choice, daffodils come in all shapes and sizes, so there's bound to be something for you.

This is a nice one for example that we just cleaned and counted, the fernandesii . Last spring we saw it in Spain , where it just grows along the side of the road. Just like we have the dandelion, they have these daffodils. We also sell the fernandesii at Fluwel, really recommended: it can brighten up any garden!

Other news is that all the summer bloomers are looking great now. Here we can enjoy all kinds of Dahlias and Zantedeschias , which are really fantastic both outside and inside in a vase. We always love to see what your garden looks like, so if you have a nice photo, tag us on Instagram: @fluwel. We can't wait to see it!
