The harvest has started again Reading Can I take a look inside your house? 3 minutes Next Zantedeschia, worth trying

Summer is perhaps the busiest time for a tulip bulb because during this period the bulb prepares itself for the coming spring. All parts of the tulip are meticulously constructed one by one. At the moment the bulb emerges from the ground, the tulip has already started forming the new tulip for the following year.

First come the leaves, after which the flower is developed in July and August. Step by step the petals, the stamens and finally the pistil with its ovary are created. In September the tulip is ready, every part of the tulip that will bloom next spring is already developed to perfection.

In the last month before the tulip bulb is planted, the sprout grows a little bit so that it can flower as quickly as possible in the spring when the temperature rises again. In October, the roots of the tulip are also created in miniature form.

You can see the root ring swelling and often breaking through the outer skin of the bulb. The photos below show you what a tulip looks like inside in November, here she is all set to be planted again.

A cross section of the tulip bulb, the green circle in the middle is the sprout of the tulip with its leaves on the outside of the circle and the tulip flower in the middle.

A lengthwise section of the tulip bulb. Here you can clearly see how the leaves are positioned on the stem and in the middle of the sprout a stamen of the flower is clearly visible.

This is the sprout of the tulip when you remove all the skirts. It is nice to see that there is still a small sprout on the left at the foot of the sprout. This is the new tulip bulb that will grow into a new bulb next spring, after the tulip has flowered.

Here all the leaves of the tulip have been removed, and you can see the flower of the tulip at the top of the sprout.

Here the flower is also peeled off, the small leaves that you see lying there are the petals. Three stamens have also been removed. What you now see on the sprout are the remaining three stamens with the pistil in the middle, the ovary of the flower.

De stamper, het vruchtbeginsel van de bloem

Here you see the swollen root ring of the tulip. If you look closely you will see all kinds of small bumps on the root ring, each bump grows into a root as soon as it feels moist soil. The roots grow out before the winter because they are very necessary to provide the tulip with water in the spring, when the tulip starts growing.

Not only the tulip forms its flower in the summer months, this is a daffodil inside in November. Here too you see in the middle the flower that is already completely ready.
